PCATS Announces Expanded Program for 2009 Annual Conference

The Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards (PCATS) announced today that its 2009 Annual Conference will be held the week of January 26, 2009, at The Florida Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando, FL.

In making the announcement, Jenny Bullard, CIO of Flash Foods and PCATS Chair stated, "We are excited about the expanded program we will have this coming year. In the past, we have concentrated on doing standards work and committee meetings. In 2009, we will have a business track in addition to the standards track." She added that, "We have designed the business track specifically with retailer attendees in mind. There will be two days of "deep dive" seminars covering such subjects as PCI Compliance Planning, Making the Business Case, and Bare Bones Project Management. Additional details will be available soon." She concluded by stating that, "All retailers and suppliers to the industry regardless of membership status in PCATS are invited to attend."

John Hervey, Executive Director of PCATS, stated, "The PCATS Annual Conference is the single industry event specifically designed to address technology standards to improve business processes, reduce costs and increase productivity in the convenience and petroleum retail sector." He added that, "The Standards track will focus on developments in the areas of device integration, electronic business-to-business (EB2B), point-of-sale (POS) / back office and retail financial transactions."
